Zahi Hawass Producing a documentary film to expose "Afrocentric lies"

Dr. Zahi Hawass

Dr. Zahi Hawass, the Egyptian archaeologist, said that the Afrocentric movement attempts to distort history to prove that they are the origin of ancient Egyptian civilization. He explained that when you look at the inscriptions in the archaeological temples, you find that the kings in the wars fought against enemies, whether African or Asian. Their appearance is entirely different from that of the Pharaonic king, which indicates that ancient Egyptian civilization is not black.

Dr. Zahi's statement to "Al-Dostour" came as a comment on the Netflix series "Queen Cleopatra," which sparked widespread controversy after its announcement due to the casting of Adèle James in the character of Queen Cleopatra.

Hawass added in his statements that Queen Cleopatra was originally Macedonian and not black-skinned. He pointed out that he is completing a documentary film to refute these lies, which he will show on May 1st. The film will deal with the facts about Queen Cleopatra.

Hawass continued, "Queen Cleopatra was like the Macedonian princes and kings, and if we look at the statues of the queen and Inscriptions on currency, we will not find any evidence to support the claim that Cleopatra was black."

He continued, "If we look at ancient Egypt, we will find it is not a black civilization. There are scenes of the Pharaoh in the temples and tombs striking enemies, and in front of him are people from Africa, Libya, and Asia."

Hawass explained that the attempts made by the Afrocentric movement were unsuccessful attempts to prove that they were the origin of ancient Egyptian civilization.
